Our Training Philosophy

Our training philosophy is to adapt positive reinforcement and behavior shaping techniques that work for each individual dog. This method is based on establishing and reinforcing solid fundamental behaviors the dog can later rely on as training advances. While others use the word "NO" to point out undesirable behaviors, we use it to teach the dog that hearing this word only means he/she is missing out on the fun!

Free Evaluation!

A training evaluation of your dog is free if you visit us. If you prefer, we can also travel to you for only $50.00. The evaluation allows us the opportunity to become familiar with the needs and training goals of both you and your dog. It also allows us to assess the dog's temperament and personality, and see how well they work with new people. We will also discuss your goals and expectations of the program.

Our BCT Two-week (Basic Canine Training) and AIT (Advanced Individual Training)

will Work to Modify/Teach the Following Behaviors

  • Recall/Come on Command
  • Basic Leash Heeling
  • Jumping on new People
  • Boundaries
  • Wait at the Door (optional)
  • Stay in Place on Command
  • Sit & Stay until Released
  • Digging/Scratching (optional)
  • Puppy Mouthing Management (optional)

  • Pulling on the Leash
  • Aggression Control
  • Crate Training (optional)
  • Off-Leash Training (optional)
  • Unwanted Barking (optional)
  • Stay away from furniture (optional)
  • Housebreaking/Potty Training (optional)
  • E-Collar Training/Introducing (optional)

We are well aware that everyone's needs are unique. That's why our TWO-WEEK BOARD & TRAIN are designed to accommodate all your needs, in a convenient way. To work around your busy schedule, we offer a free pet pick-up and drop-off service, side-by-side with our unlimited follow-up for the life of your dog.

Upon graduation/finishing the BCT (Basic Canine Training)], your dog will sit, lay down, come when called, stay in place when instructed, and walk on a loose leash (no pulling, nor jumping).

Upon graduation/finishing the AIT (Advanced Individual Training), your dog will understand boundaries, walk Unleashed, wait at the door and/or kennel/crate until told to go out and be E-Collar trained.

We guarantee you and your dog will achieve remarkable results. Although it's not mandatory, your dog will most likely need to attend the AIT (Advanced Individual Training) Program within six months to allow us adequate time to shape and re-enforce the new behaviors. It is a fact that learned behaviors are not as solid as those that are genetic; the dog is more likely to revert to his/her old behavior especially if he/she feels stressed. This is why we offer the second phase, which re-enforces what the dog has learned.

Once your dog graduates our training, we shift our focus to you in order to teach/educate you on how to handle, keep reinforcing our methods and how to use the E-Collar correctly & effectively if applicable . This helps to maintain consistency for the dog and encourages successful adoption of the new, desired etiquette. We will also make sure you feel 110% in maintaining the training program at home.

Planning on a Vacation?

Our TWO-WEEK BOARD & TRAIN makes going on a vacation even more fun! Fantasize about coming home from a nice vacation to meet your "new", well-behaved companion who will be dropped-off at your convenience.

Training Agreement

By enrolling the dog and upon placing a deposit for any of DFW K9 training programs, the client (dog owner) fully consent they have read and agrees to all of the following:

Trainer agrees to provide Program/Service for Client. The goals are;

•To train Client Dog(s) based on the training curriculum of the contracted Program/Service

.•To demonstrate and guide Client how to train/work with Dog, enforce the taught behaviors and show Client how to administer the right type of correction when needed.

Client understand Trainer will make every reasonable effort to help Client achieve training and behavior

modification goals but makes no guarantee of Dog’s performance or behavior as a result of providing

professional animal training. Client understands that he/she and all members of the household must follow

Trainer’s instructions without any modification, train/work with Dog on daily basis as recommended, and

constantly reinforce training being taught to Dog in order to retain taught behaviors. Client is required to share

with Trainer a minimum of one, two-minute recorded training session on a daily basis for the first two weeks after

the Dog's return to Client. Client understands, similarly to teaching a human a new skill set, dogs learn at

different paces, regardless of breed. Training Program/Service duration only represents the minimum estimated

time required to teach a dog with a minimal level of conflict specific Program/Service training curriculum. In the

event of Dog not meeting training standards within Program/Service contracted duration, Trainer will suggest a

remedy to overcome such situation. If Trainer believes extra time is needed to achieve the training curriculum,

Client will be responsible to pay for the additional time needed based on Trainer flat daily or weekly rate,

depending on the additional time needed. In the event Client does not agree with Trainer suggested remedy,

Trainer will return Dog to Client after receiving Service/Program agreed-on cost in full and provide Client with

guidance to assist Client in completing the training on their own.

death to my Dog now and forever, arising out of our related to participation and/or instruction in said course, activities, or

any other related operations that may occur, whether caused by the negligence of the releases or otherwise. I also agree

to abide by all Program/Service policies of DFW K9. Shall my Dog need any Vet or emergency service(s), I fully authorize

DFW K9 to take immediate actions to help with such situation without the need for my consent. Since it is my Dog, I will be

100% responsible for any financial cost associated with such situation(s). I authorize DFW K9 the absolute rights to use any

training equipment/gear they see appropriate and needed for training, based on their professional discretion.

My Dog(s) is current and will remain up to date with immunizations for Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus and Bordetella (kennel

cough), and I will provide DFW K9 with most recent copy of Dog vaccinations record and Rabies certificate. If my Dog is not

current on any required vaccination required by DFW K9, I authorize DFW K9 to administer such vaccine and I am aware I

will be 100% financially responsible for the cost of such vaccine(s).

As Client of DFW K9, I will keep all my interaction at a professional level. If I am not satisfied with any part of Program/Service

offered by Trainer, I will inform DFW K9 with the reason(s) of my dissatisfaction and give DFW K9 a reasonable time to fix the

issue(s). I will not belittle or depreciate DFW K9 in person, over phone/video conversation or on any online platform,

including social media.

I give full permission for DFW K9 to record and publish photos and videos of myself, my family and/or my Dog during pick-up,
