PTP is a 5-week board and train program designed specifically for puppies under the age of 6 months. PTP begins with an imprinting phase, where we teach your puppy desired behaviors without command association. This ensures your puppy will thoroughly learn the desired behavior before any word is assigned to the behavior, thus eliminating any negative associations when the actual command is used. This will eliminate many conflicts owners commonly face related to potty and crate training, handling (being pet, handled, bathed, groomed, etc.), walking on different types of surfaces (concrete, asphalt, wet and dry grass, sand, mud, etc.), walking on-leash, and accepting the wear of a collar. We also introduce your puppy to food luring.
Once the imprinting phase is complete, we emphasize familiarization and socialization, in which your puppy will be around people from different ethnicities and colors, other pets, large animals, loud noises, moving objects and other environmental distractions.
Teaching the basics starts next, where your puppy will learn Sit, Lay, Come, Crate, Bed, In and Out on leash. All commands inherently include Stay, meaning your puppy will remain in the last command until freed. While teaching the basics we will also counter/reshape unwanted behaviors such as housebreaking, mouthing and chewing, digging, excessive barking, bolting (running outside doors and gates), jumping on people and furniture, and pulling on the leash.
While your puppy is enrolled in PTP, we will create a private Google Drive folder where we will share pictures and videos of your puppy so you can watch them grow and also stay updated on their training progress.
Once your puppy finish/graduates PTP, they will be awarded a training certificate with their overall rating compared to other puppies in PTP.
Upon finishing the program/graduation, and after scheduling the drop-off date and time, we will return your trained puppy free of charge. When we arrive with your puppy, you will receive a 1-hour orientation where we demonstrate how to correctly command your puppy the same way we have taught them at our facility. We will then task you and your family members to demonstrate your learning, since training the owners is one of the most aspects in any puppy/dog training program and to eliminate any conflicts and guarantee a smooth chain of command transition (getting the puppy to take you as a leader and food provider).
All our board and train programs are backed by lifetime support. This means we will assist you with any training issues through voice/video call, texts, emails, or through visual learning aids (i.e. videos of puppies/dogs who have had the same issues and how that unwanted behavior was reshaped). We can determine if an on-site visit may be necessary if more serious concerns or issues arise.
All puppy owners who wish to establish a thorough training foundation to eliminate a lifetime of unintentional conflicts due to the lack of dog training experience, patience or time
Owners who want their puppies to grow up to become a friendly, trustworthy and well-mannered family companion
Owners who want to invest in their beloved puppy to help them live a better life
No previous training is required
Most current vaccination record and rabies certificate (rabies certificate not required if puppy is less than 6 months old)
A small bag of your puppy’s current dry food
Any additional medications or supplements your puppy is currently prescribed or taking
Please reach out to us through phone, text, email or by submitting our online interest form to learn about up-to-date rates for DDP. Please keep in mind that training costs may seem like a lot at first; however, we urge you to take some time to learn about the time required to properly train a puppy so they can evolve into a well-behaved companion that is much more pleasant to be around for everyone. Think of training as an investment in your young puppy that you will enjoy for the rest of his/her life.
PTP training slots are offered at very limited numbers so we can guarantee our training results. This means we ensure we dedicate the right amount of time for every single puppy enrolled. A maximum of one new slot may only be available every other week!
We offer FREE pick-up and drop-off for all of our board and train programs. We offer this service to help us learn more about how your dog behaves in their own territory. This is key in establishing a tailed program for your puppy and your family. Our clients find our pick-up and drop-off service very convenient.
